LEWISTON, ID – An 18-year-old Lewiston man was arrested Saturday after police responded to reports of a vehicle repeatedly striking a guardrail in the 700 block of Ninth Street.
According to the Lewiston Police Department, officers were dispatched on May 10 at approximately 2:30 p.m. after callers reported an SUV had crashed into a guardrail, moved off, and struck it again. Officers located a white Ford Excursion at the scene, still running and in drive, stuck against the concrete barrier.
Police identified the driver as Adrian Hudson Ciezki. According to court documents, officers observed that Ciezki appeared to be slumped over in the driver’s seat and showed signs of impairment, including a strong odor of alcohol. After asking Ciezki to turn off the vehicle, officers noted that he struggled to comply and needed assistance to place the vehicle in park.
Witnesses informed officers that Ciezki allegedly had been trying to drive away from the crash. Officers also observed an open container of “Screwdriver Joose” behind the passenger seat and located a THC dab pen in Ciezki’s pocket during a search of his person.
Ciezki was taken into custody and transported to the Nez Perce County Jail. He reportedly failed several field sobriety tests, displaying signs of impairment, including poor balance and inability to follow instructions. Ciezki later provided three breath samples, with results of .295, .272, and .258 BAC, significantly over Idaho’s legal limit of .08.
Ciezki was booked on misdemeanor charges of excessive DUI, possession of paraphernalia, and open container. He was also cited for driving on a sidewalk.
