YAKIMA, WA – A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in concealing the 2018 murder of Rosenda Strong on the Yakama Reservation.

Jamaal Antwan Pimms was sentenced to 26 months in federal prison and one year of supervised release for misprision of a felony. According to court documents, Pimms helped dispose of Strong’s body after she was shot and killed by Jedidah Iesha Moreno on or about October 5, 2018, at a Wapato residence known as the “House of Souls.”

Following the murder, Moreno requested help moving Strong’s body. Pimms and another individual, Andrew Norris Zack, assisted by placing the body in a freezer, loading it into a truck, and dumping it near M&R Towing in Toppenish, Washington. Despite being interviewed by FBI agents in July 2019, Pimms did not report the crime.

“Jamaal Pimms had the opportunity – and even the obligation – to come forward with the truth… Instead, Mr. Pimms chose silence,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Richard Barker.

Rosenda Strong’s remains were discovered on July 4, 2019, and later identified through dental records.

The case was investigated by the FBI with assistance from the Yakama Nation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Thomas J. Hanlon and Michael D. Murphy. Zack, the co-defendant, has pleaded guilty and is scheduled for sentencing on October 21, 2025.
