Idaho State Police Seek Help Identifying Motorcyclist Who Fled at Speeds Over 150 MPH on I-84

MERIDIAN, ID – The Idaho State Police is requesting public assistance in identifying a motorcyclist who evaded troopers twice during a high-speed incident on Interstate 84 earlier this week.

According to ISP, the incident occurred on Tuesday, June 4, when a black Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle was seen traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour westbound near milepost 46 around 1:47 p.m. The rider failed to yield when an ISP trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

Later, the same motorcycle was spotted heading eastbound near milepost 44. When another trooper attempted to stop the rider, the individual again fled—this time reportedly reaching speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. Due to safety concerns, troopers did not engage in a pursuit.

The motorcyclist was last seen near Overland Road and Five Mile Road. ISP noted the bike had no visible license plate.

“This rider didn’t just break the law—he put lives at risk,” said District 3 Patrol Captain Michael Winans. “Fleeing at extreme speeds on a high-powered motorcycle like a Hayabusa shows a reckless disregard for everyone else on the road. We’re asking for the public’s help to identify him before someone gets seriously hurt or killed.”

The rider is wanted on two counts of felony eluding and one count of misdemeanor reckless driving.

A traffic camera image captured at I-184 and Curtis Road at 2:00 p.m. showed the suspect wearing a light-colored helmet, dark long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and athletic shoes. Investigators noted the rider has very skinny legs, which may aid in identification.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the ISP Regional Communications Center at (208) 846-7550 and ask for Corporal McConnell.
