Clarkston Woman Arrested After Allegedly Slashing Ex with Kitchen Knife

CLARKSTON, WA – A woman was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly slashing a man across the face with a kitchen knife during a dispute at a residence in Clarkston, according to the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Linette M. Carr, was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred around 4:57 p.m. on June 25. Deputies responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 2400 block of 19th Street in the Clarkston Heights.

According to court documents, Carr is the victim’s former girlfriend.  An argument reportedly began after she attempted to cut a cake in the kitchen. During the confrontation, she allegedly swung at the man and cut him across the bridge of the nose with a knife, resulting in visible bleeding.

Deputies observed signs of a struggle inside the home, including blood droplets, a broken plate, and food on the floor. Carr was located nearby and taken into custody without further incident.

The documents say Carr told deputies she believed she had been invited and claimed the man started the altercation by smearing cake on her and physically holding her down. Deputies noted that Carr had no visible injuries at the time of her arrest.

She was booked into the Asotin County Jail on a charge of second-degree assault. Authorities are also reviewing whether a protection order remains in effect between the involved parties.
