KOOSKIA, ID – Emergency crews responded early Wednesday morning to a vehicle submerged in the Lochsa River near milepost 99.5 on U.S. Highway 12, just east of Lowell.
The incident was reported at approximately 1:54 a.m. on July 9, prompting a response from Kooskia Ambulance, the Kooskia Ambulance Rescue Unit, and the Lowell Quick Response Unit.
According to Kooskia Emergency Services, the sole occupant of the vehicle had already been pulled from the river by a passing motorist who witnessed the accident and stopped to help.
The driver was transported by Kooskia Ambulance with minor injuries. No further details about the driver or the circumstances of the crash have been released.
