MOSCOW, ID – The City of Moscow has secured a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant from the National Park Service to support upcoming development at Lola Clyde Park.

The $584,000 federal grant, matched by $584,000 in local funds, will contribute to a $1.17 million project to improve infrastructure and accessibility at the park, located at 1040 N. Polk Extension. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2027.

Planned upgrades include new internal trails, walking paths, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, paved parking, pedestrian ramps, and lighting—designed to enhance public access and enjoyment.

Lola Clyde Park occupies a large open space in northeast Moscow. The land was purchased by the City in 1996 and named in honor of the seller’s grandmother, Lola Clyde. Over the years, improvements have included the reconstruction of Hogg Creek, a pedestrian bridge installed by University of Idaho students, and a playground completed in 2019.

The LWCF program, established in 1965, aims to conserve and develop outdoor recreational areas across the country. As a grant recipient, the City of Moscow will comply with federal requirements, including provisions that prioritize the use of American-made materials.
