Three Children Injured in I-90 Rollover Crash in Eastern Washington

GRANT COUNTY, WA – A single-vehicle rollover crash injured three juveniles Tuesday evening after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel on Interstate 90, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:02 p.m. on July 15, about seven miles east of George, near milepost 144. A 17-year-old male from Pasco was driving westbound in a 2013 white Toyota Camry when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the median, and rolled before coming to rest facing eastbound in the ditch.

Three passengers—a 10-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old girl, all from Pasco—were injured and transported to Quincy Valley Hospital. The 10-year-old and 14-year-old were not wearing seatbelts, while the 15-year-old was.

The driver was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. He has been charged with negligent driving in the second degree. Drugs or alcohol were not involved in the incident, according to investigators.

The vehicle was totaled.
