Two Injured in Collision West of Pomeroy After Failure to Yield

POMEROY, WA – Two people were injured in a collision Monday afternoon west of Pomeroy after one vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:08 p.m. on July 21, 2025, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and State Route 127, about 12 miles west of Pomeroy.

Investigators say a red 2018 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by 79-year-old Dale K. McAtee of Ferndale, Washington, was stopped at a stop sign on westbound Highway 12. The Corvette then failed to yield to a grey 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, resulting in a collision.

McAtee and his passenger, 71-year-old Patricia L. McAtee, also of Ferndale, were both injured. Dale McAtee was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, while Patricia McAtee was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Silverado, 44-year-old Levi P. Walker of Pullman, was not injured.

Both vehicles were totaled and removed. No drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. Dale McAtee was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
