ELK CITY, ID – Crews will begin repaving a 10-mile stretch of State Highway 14 near Elk City on Monday, July 28, as part of a $2.5 million project aimed at improving road safety and driving conditions.

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced that the project will include repairing potholes, resurfacing the highway, and addressing shoulder damage between mileposts 23 and 33. Motorists should expect single-lane alternating traffic guided by pilot cars, along with flaggers and delays ranging from 15 to 30 minutes.

Work will pause temporarily by 6 p.m. on August 7 in advance of Elk City Days, which runs August 8 through 10. Crews will resume operations on August 11, with the entire project scheduled for completion by mid-September.

The improvements are intended to enhance safety and provide a smoother ride for travelers.
