Woman Arrested for Trespassing, Assaulting Officer Outside Asotin Convenience Store

ASOTIN, WA – A 44-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday evening after police say she repeatedly returned to a store from which she had been trespassed, resisted arrest, and assaulted an officer.

Kamber Sue Eggers, of Idaho, was taken into custody on July 30 at approximately 7:47 p.m. outside the Nom Nom convenience store on the 200 block of 1st Street in Asotin. She faces multiple charges, including second-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, and intimidating a witness.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Asotin County Superior Court, Chief M. Renzelman of the Asotin Police Department responded to a call reporting a woman loitering near the store’s dumpster for more than six hours. Store employees reported that the woman, later identified as Eggers, was interfering with customers and had refused to leave.

Upon initial contact, Chief Renzelman noted Eggers appeared to be intoxicated, with slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and open containers of alcohol nearby. According to court documents, she initially refused to provide identification but eventually gave her name after further questioning.

Despite multiple warnings that she was trespassed from the property, Eggers allegedly remained near the store and attempted to return on several occasions. After being informed that further attempts would result in arrest, she again entered the store and reportedly confronted a store employee, allegedly yelling at her in front of customers.

Officers located Eggers nearby, lying on the grass across the street from the store. When informed she was under arrest, she reportedly continued to question the officer and failed to comply with commands, prompting the officer to call for backup.

As the officer attempted to handcuff her, Eggers allegedly kicked him in the groin, screamed, and again kicked him while resisting. After being restrained and escorted to the patrol vehicle, she reportedly kicked the vehicle, leaving a footprint but causing no damage. The affidavit states that she then spit in the officer’s face and later attempted to spit again once inside the vehicle.

Eggers was transported to the Asotin County Jail without further incident. The officer noted minor injuries, including a scratch on his forearm.

Eggers remained in custody Thursday morning pending court proceedings.
