COEUR D’ALENE, ID – A Washington man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison following a conviction for attempting to lure a minor through online communication.

Adam Daniel Tyler, 35, was arrested in April 2025 after a sting operation conducted by law enforcement. According to investigators, Tyler believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl and arranged to meet her in person. Upon arriving at the agreed location, he was taken into custody and later admitted to knowing his actions were wrong.

Tyler was convicted of Enticing a Child Through the Internet, a felony offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison. On August 4, 2025, District Judge Barry McHugh sentenced him to a 10-year prison term with the possibility of parole after four years.

The Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office acknowledged the efforts of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Molly Nivison, the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in handling the case.
