Man Charged With Burglary, Theft and More After Arrest at Chief Timothy Park

CLARKSTON, WA – A man is facing multiple felony charges after his arrest last Friday at Chief Timothy Park, where law enforcement says they recovered a firearm and stolen property linked to a recent Clarkston burglary.

According to court documents, an Asotin County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested 48-year-old Scott E. Teuscher on Aug. 8 at about 8:20 p.m. after deputies responded to reports of a disorderly man throwing items and yelling at the park. Officers were advised that the man matched the description of a suspect in several recent Clarkston burglaries and was associated with a white Ford Fusion.

Deputies located the vehicle and reported seeing a handgun magazine and knife sheath in plain view inside the car. Teuscher was found nearby. Court records state Teuscher admitted he was on felony probation and could not legally possess firearms. However, he allegedly told deputies he did have a gun in his possession for protection against a bear attack.

Deputies say they found a 45-caliber handgun wrapped inside of a shirt among Teuscher’s belongings, just feet from where he was initially contacted. A criminal history check confirmed Teuscher was a convicted felon. He was booked into the Asotin County Jail on Friday for first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

On Saturday, Clarkston Police booked additional charges against Teuscher in connection with an Aug. 8 burglary at a shop in the 500 block of 3rd Street in Clarkston. The owner reported that tools, an antique clock, a debit card, and more were missing.

Investigators say surveillance footage from a nearby business showed a man matching Teuscher’s description in the area during the early morning hours of Aug. 8. Shoe prints at the scene allegedly matched a pair of shoes found among Teuscher’s belongings. Police also reported recovering Andrews’ tools, clock, and debit card from Teuscher’s property at the time of his arrest.

Teuscher is facing charges of second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft, and second-degree possession of stolen property in addition to the firearm charge.  He appeared in court on Monday.  Bond was set at $20,000.
