Firefighters Halt Spread of Lamb Fire Near Troy at 80 Acres

TROY, ID – The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) reports that forward progress on the Lamb Fire was stopped at 80 acres on Monday, with containment last reported at 50 percent as of 7 p.m. Monday.

The Latah County Sheriff’s Office has lifted all evacuation orders. IDL crews remained on scene overnight to monitor for flare-ups and hotspots.

The fire was first reported around 2:15 p.m. Monday near Driscoll Ridge Road and Lamb Road, south of Troy. Multiple agencies responded, including aerial support from two Type 1 helicopters, two Single Engine Air Tankers, and air attack. Ground resources included crews from the IDL, U.S. Forest Service, Teakean Type 2 Initial Attack Hand Crew, and rural fire departments from Deary, Moscow, and Troy.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
