Clarkston Blaze Destroys Two RVs, No Injuries Reported

CLARKSTON, WA – Fire crews from across the Lewis-Clark Valley responded Monday afternoon to a fast-moving blaze that destroyed two recreational vehicles in Clarkston as temperatures climbed above 100 degrees.

The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. at an RV park in the 1200 block of Bridge Street. Firefighters from Lewiston, Clarkston, and Asotin County Fire District #1 arrived quickly and contained the flames, preventing further spread.

The owners of both RVs escaped without injury. One person was evaluated by medics at the scene but declined further treatment. Crews remained on site for about an hour to watch for hotspots and ensure the area was safe.

Asotin County Fire Chief Noel Hardin said extreme heat poses additional risks for firefighters. “When temperatures climb above 95 degrees, we must pay very close attention to firefighter health. With all the protective gear they wear, heat-related illnesses are a serious concern,” Hardin said.

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
