HAYDEN, ID – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead on a rural property north of Hayden Lake on Monday afternoon.
According to KCSO, deputies responded around 1:51 p.m. on August 11 to the 15000 block of N. Hamlet Trail, off Triangle 7 Road, for a report of an unknown medical incident. The caller told dispatch he had discovered an injured man and blood on the front porch of his home.
When deputies arrived, they found the man suffering from traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kootenai County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 25-year-old Kenneth B. Caldero, a Kootenai County resident. The exact cause of death has not yet been released.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Caldero’s death, which is being treated as suspicious. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the KCSO at (208) 446-1854.
Sheriff Robert B. Norris said the case remains active and ongoing under case number 25-39515.
