Volunteers Quickly Extinguish Grain Truck Fire and Small Wildfire South of Palouse

PALOUSE, WA – A semi grain truck fire sparked a small wildland blaze south of Palouse Wednesday afternoon.

Volunteers from Whitman County Fire District 4 out of Palouse and District 12 from Pullman quickly extinguished the flames in high winds.

They were called to the grain truck wildfire at the intersection of Parvin and Collins Roads shortly after 4:00.

The blaze started with a semi grain truck fire which destroyed the big rig.  The flames then burned about an acre before volunteers arrived and extinguished the flames.

Whitman County Fire District 11 Volunteers from Albion also responded.  The fire burned in District 4.
