RIGGINS, ID – A routine traffic stop in Idaho County resulted in multiple charges, including felony drug possession, after a deputy pulled over a vehicle near Riggins Friday evening.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Big Salmon Road around 8:15 p.m. on August 15. During the stop, K9 Millie was deployed and alerted on the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Sebastian Mendoza Martinez, was taken into custody. He faces charges of felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor open container by drive.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
