Idaho Statistical Analysis Center Receives National Award for Sexual Violence Report

MERIDIAN, ID – The Idaho Statistical Analysis Center (ISAC), part of the Idaho State Police, has received the 2025 Douglas Yearwood National Publication Award for its work on sexual violence research in Idaho.

The award, presented by the Justice Information Resource Network (JIRN), recognizes ISAC’s November 2024 report Sexual Violence in Idaho: Prevalence and Health Impacts. The report examines the scope of sexual violence in the state and its effects on victims’ health.

ISAC Director and Principal Research Analyst Thomas Strauss will accept the award during JIRN’s annual conference in September and will present the findings to a national audience in a webinar highlighting this year’s award winners.

This recognition marks ISAC’s fourth Yearwood Award since 2020 and its seventh overall since the award’s creation in 1986. The award program honors Statistical Analysis Centers nationwide for outstanding communication of criminal justice research to decision makers, practitioners, and the public.

JIRN issues six Yearwood Awards annually, dividing them between small and large SACs based on staff size, and across three categories: statistical/management reports, policy/research reports, and data dashboards. ISAC, a small SAC, competed in the statistical/management report category.

The award-winning report is available through the ISAC Publication Library on the Idaho State Police website. ISAC’s mission is to provide research, data, and statistical analysis on crime, victim services, and justice administration in Idaho.
