USDA Names New State Directors Across the Country

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced new presidential appointments to leadership positions within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) and Rural Development (RD). The appointments cover multiple states and place directors in roles responsible for implementing federal agricultural and rural development programs at the state level.

FSA State Directors oversee federal farm programs administered through state and county offices, while RD State Directors manage programs designed to strengthen rural economies and communities.

Appointments include:

  • Maryland/Delaware: Paul D. Ellington, Rural Development; George Turner, Farm Service Agency
  • Minnesota: Mick Ditlevson, Rural Development
  • New Hampshire: Jeffrey Holmes, Farm Service Agency
  • New Jersey: Robert Andrzejczak, Farm Service Agency
  • New Mexico: Zach Riley, Farm Service Agency
  • Oklahoma: Eddie Fields, Farm Service Agency; Zac Swartz, Rural Development
  • Oregon: Tootie Smith, Farm Service Agency
  • Texas: Dan Hunter, Farm Service Agency; James Redfield, Rural Development
  • Utah: Susan Larson, Farm Service Agency
  • Virginia: Beth Walker Green, Rural Development
  • West Virginia: Keith Richmond, Farm Service Agency
  • Wyoming: Laurie Boner, Farm Service Agency

 

According to USDA, the new directors bring backgrounds in farming, ranching, business, policy, and public service. They will be responsible for carrying out federal agriculture and rural development programs at the state level.
