Operation Rolling Thunder Nets 55 Arrests in Spokane County

SPOKANE, WA – A multi-agency law enforcement effort known as Operation Rolling Thunder resulted in 55 arrests across Spokane County and Spokane Valley, targeting fugitives with active warrants for serious and violent crimes.

The coordinated sweep, conducted August 11–15, 2025, was led by the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force in partnership with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police Department, and numerous state and federal agencies. Authorities cleared 51 felony warrants — 29 of which were for violent offenses — along with 38 misdemeanor warrants.

According to investigators, those taken into custody were wanted on charges ranging from homicide, kidnapping, and sexual abuse of a child to burglary, drug trafficking, unlawful possession of firearms, and failure to register as sex offenders. Several suspects were also arrested for attempting to elude officers, domestic violence offenses, and parole violations.

Officials say the large-scale arrests are expected to have an immediate impact on community safety by removing repeat offenders and violent fugitives from the region.

Among those arrested were individuals wanted for felony eluding, assault, robbery, and child abuse, with some facing bond amounts exceeding $200,000. Others were taken into custody on no-bond warrants for escape from community custody or fugitive charges.

Participating agencies included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Border Patrol, multiple U.S. Marshals districts, and local partners from Walla Walla County, Yakima Police, and the Washington State Patrol, among others.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office stated that the success of Operation Rolling Thunder was made possible through close coordination among local, state, and federal agencies, underscoring the importance of partnerships in addressing violent crime.
