Sex Pistols cancel 2025 North American tour due to guitarist’s injury

The Sex Pistols have canceled their 2025 North American tour due to guitarist Steve Jones breaking his wrist. The performances will be postponed and rescheduled once Jones has fully recovered.

The tour was set to be the band’s first extended U.S. run since 2003, and featured original members Jones, Glen Matlock, and Paul Cook, alongside vocalist Frank Carter (in place of frontman John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon). The group was set to perform the iconic 1977 album, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, in its entirety and more music in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary.

Jones said in a statement: “I’ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first? Okay, the bad news: I’ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately, we won’t be doing any shows for a while. The good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I’ll be 70 tomorrow! God bless, and God save the wrist.”

The band added: “The performances will be postponed and rescheduled when Steve has fully recovered. Please check local venue websites and our social media for more information. We appreciate your understanding and support.”
