The fireteam challenge requires participants to carry a minimum of 25 pounds in packs or weighted vests, with teams of 2-10 people navigating checkpoints along the route. Children under 15 are exempt from weight requirements, and parents carrying infants in harnesses don’t need to carry additional weight.
Entry fees are $25 for adults, $20 for veterans and active military with ID, $10 for children under 10, and $10 for BBQ-only attendees. Prizes will be awarded for fastest time with weight, heaviest pack, and best team theme.
The event is family-friendly and will proceed rain or shine. Participants must bring their own water and snacks. A BBQ will begin at 11:00 am after hikers complete the challenge.
