BOISE, ID – The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has set an October 8 deadline for parties interested in intervening in two cases concerning Avista Utilities’ 2024 energy efficiency program expenses.
The cases will determine whether Avista’s reported costs for electric and natural gas energy efficiency programs were prudently incurred. These programs aim to help Idaho customers reduce energy use and costs, offering rebates for energy-efficient products such as Energy Star windows, along with educational outreach. The programs are funded through an energy efficiency rider on customer bills.
Avista is seeking approval for $17.3 million in electric program expenses and $2.3 million in natural gas program expenses incurred between January 1 and December 31, 2024. If deemed prudent, these expenses would be recognized by the commission as appropriate program costs.
Intervenor status allows individuals or organizations to formally participate in the proceedings. Requests can be submitted by email to secretary@puc.idaho.gov or mailed to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission at P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074. Additional case details are available on the commission’s website under case numbers AVU-E-25-12 and AVU-G-25-09.
