MOSCOW, ID — The University of Idaho, in partnership with the Moscow Arts Commission, will host the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Poster Reveal Reception at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, inside the Third Street Gallery at Moscow City Hall.
The reception will unveil the official 2026 festival poster, created by U of I alumnus Cody Muir, ’16, whose design reflects both the Palouse landscape and the energy of live jazz. Muir collaborated closely with festival manager Navin Chettri to capture “the Palouse’s natural beauty in a musical context,” incorporating instrument silhouettes and swirling patterns into the rolling hills of the region.
In addition to the poster reveal, attendees will be the first to learn the lineup of world-class artists scheduled to perform at the 2026 festival. According to Chettri, this year’s program will include a variety of styles such as Latin jazz, hard bop, soul jazz, vocal jazz and big band performances.
The event will also feature live performances by University of Idaho student ensembles and catering from Goose House Bakery. Admission is free and open to the public.
