KENDRICK, ID – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is advising motorists to expect short delays on U.S. Highway 95 and State Highway 3 next week as crews conduct geotechnical investigations ahead of resurfacing projects planned for next year.
On State Highway 3, work will take place Monday through Wednesday between milepost 13 and 18 at the bottom of Bear Ridge Grade. Crews will be boring into the roadway to gather soil and rock information needed for project planning. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing drivers in each direction. Delays are anticipated to be under 15 minutes.
During this time, escape ramps and turnouts in the work zone will be closed. A traffic control crew will be stationed at the brake check area on top of the grade to notify truck drivers.
Work will also occur on U.S. Highway 95 beginning Wednesday near Grangeville, between milepost 241 and 251 in the Johnston Road area. One lane will be closed, and the project is expected to finish by Friday.
Both schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Drivers can find the latest updates on these and other work zones statewide by using the Idaho 511 app or visiting 511.idaho.gov.
