KANSAS CITY, MO – LC State Women’s Cross Country checked in at No. 23 in the latest NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25, released on Thursday. The Warriors are just over a week away from the lone home meet of the year which marks the halfway point of the season.
The Warrior women had a strong showing at the WWU Bill Roe Invitational where the team placed fifth overall. Damaris Kibiwot continued her dominant sophomore campaign with a 15th-place finish in the field of 96, and both Camille Ussher and Grace Tiegs finished in the top 45.
LC State has seen significant contributions from freshmen Eva Lundgren, Kailee Lerew, Lilly Gilbert and Nuala Rollins which has increased the depth for the Warriors. Lundgren and Lerew rounded out the top five for LC State at Western Washington’s meet and both placed in the top 50.
Around the Cascade Conference, College of Idaho climbed one spot to No. 8 and Eastern Oregon remained No. 16. Southern Oregon fell one spot to No. 20, and the Warriors are the fourth CCC team in the rankings.
