BOISE, ID – The American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) has named David Whitehead, President of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., as the 2025 Engineering Manager of the Year.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership, innovation, and impact in the field of engineering management. Whitehead was selected from a competitive pool of nominees representing a range of industries.
According to ASEM, Whitehead was recognized for his extensive experience developing innovative solutions for the monitoring and control of complex electric power systems, as well as for his success in building technology-focused teams that invent, develop, teach, market, sell, and support products and services across the electric utility, industrial, and data center sectors.
The award was presented during the ASEM International Annual Conference, hosted by the University of Idaho and held in Boise on September 26, 2025. Whitehead also delivered a keynote address at the event.
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is an international company that designs and manufactures digital products and systems for electrical grids, with headquarters located in Pullman, an electronics manufacturing facility in Lewiston, and a printed circuit board production facility in Moscow.
