Lapwai Youth Earns Regional Recognition in Amerind Poster Contest

LAPWAI, ID — The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Nez Perce Tribe shared some exciting news on Facebook this week — one of their Lapwai Clubhouse members earned regional recognition in the Nez Perce Tribal Housing Authority (NPTHA) Amerind Poster Contest.

Fourth through sixth graders ‘Eeyewin Sobotta took third place at the regional level, with artwork selected from entries across the Northwest Region.

The contest starts locally, giving youth a chance to create original art based on housing and community pride. Local winners then advance to the regional round, where their work is judged alongside other tribal communities.

According to the Boys & Girls Club, NPTHA staff and board members presented Sobotta with a gift and certificate to celebrate the accomplishment.

Congratulations to Eeyewin Sobotta for representing the Lapwai Clubhouse and the Nez Perce Tribe so proudly on the regional stage!
