Meridian Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of Child Sexual Exploitation Material

BOISE, ID – The Idaho Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of a Meridian man following an investigation by the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2025, 30-year-old Austin Sypert was taken into custody for three counts of possession of sexually exploitative material. The arrest was made with the assistance of the Meridian Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and an ICAC affiliate investigator from the Nampa Police Department.

Attorney General Raúl Labrador praised the work of his investigators and law enforcement partners across the state.

“My ICAC Unit is making more arrests than ever before, and we will not stop pursuing those who allegedly exploit and harm children until families are protected from this evil,” Labrador said. “I’m grateful for our law enforcement partners across the state who share our commitment to keeping families in Idaho safe.”

The Idaho ICAC Unit operates as part of the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a collaboration between federal, state, and local agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting individuals who use the internet to exploit children.

Officials urge anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

Resources for parents, educators, and law enforcement can be found at ICACIdaho.org.

Authorities emphasized that the charges are allegations, and Sypert is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
