PULLMAN, WA — Washington State University President Kirk Schulz Cantwell is inviting students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in a series of listening sessions this fall designed to help define the university’s next decade.
Cantwell will visit each WSU campus to meet directly with members of the Cougar community, gathering input and perspectives to guide the university’s long-term strategic vision. The sessions aim to foster open dialogue and reflection on WSU’s identity, challenges, and aspirations as the institution prepares for its next phase of growth.
The discussions will focus on key questions related to the university’s educational opportunities, future research priorities, community identity, and potential risks in an evolving academic landscape. Separate sessions will be held for students, faculty, and staff at each campus, along with public forums that welcome community participation.
Feedback collected during the sessions will inform the development of an enhanced strategic plan to be unveiled in 2026. Cantwell described the effort as a meaningful opportunity for collaboration and transparency, ensuring that the voices of all members of the Cougar community play a role in shaping WSU’s future.
