Lewiston Man Charged With Rape and Property Damage in Separate Felony Cases

LEWISTON, ID – A Lewiston man has been charged in two separate felony cases following investigations by the Lewiston Police Department.

According to affidavits filed in Nez Perce County Court, 21-year-old Ian Matthew White faces three counts of rape and one count of malicious injury to property.

Court documents state the sexual assault investigation began on October 11, when police received a report from a family member of a victim alleging that White had engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl over several months. The alleged incidents occurred between May and August at a Lewiston residence and in a vehicle, according to a police report.

During an interview at the Nez Perce County Jail, White reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim three times and acknowledged he was aware it was against the law. Prosecutors subsequently charged White with three felony counts of rape.

Separately, police also arrested White in connection with a property damage incident near 6th Street and 8th Avenue in Lewiston. Officer reports describe a dispute between White and an adult female, during which White allegedly kicked a vehicle, causing more than $1,000 in damage.

Probable cause documents state that officers observed visible dents and shoe patterns on the vehicle’s doors, consistent with White’s admission that he had kicked it during an argument. He was charged with felony malicious injury to property.

White was initially booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on the malicious injury to property charge on the afternoon of October 11.  Court documents indicate he was charged with the three rape counts on the morning of October 14.  White’s bond in relation to the rape charges was set at $250,000.  He is scheduled to be back in court on October 29.
