TWIN FALLS, ID — The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is reminding farm and field operators to stay alert during harvest season after a close call involving a flying rock left a vehicle badly damaged Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in the area of 4100 N. 1900 E., when a rock became dislodged from between the dual tires of a truck operating in a nearby field. The rock shot through the air, piercing both the front and rear windows of a white Subaru traveling on the roadway.
The driver was uninjured, though deputies said the situation could have easily turned deadly. “Just a few inches difference, and it could have been a fatal impact,” the sheriff’s office stated in its release.

Deputies also issued several safety reminders for agricultural operators:
