SPOKANE COUNTY, WA — A Spokane County man was arrested after allegedly throwing food at a driver and yanking the steering wheel, causing a single-vehicle crash on East Farwell Road Wednesday evening.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8 p.m. on October 29, 2025, to the 3400 block of E. Farwell Road near N. Meadowlark Street. Upon arrival, deputies found that the vehicle had veered off the roadway, striking a street sign and a fence.
Investigators determined that 47-year-old Mark L. Williams, who was riding in the passenger seat, began arguing with the driver before throwing food at her. He then grabbed and pulled the steering wheel, forcing the vehicle off the road.
Two adult female passengers were in the vehicle at the time but did not appear to suffer serious injuries. The vehicle sustained significant engine damage and lost a large amount of oil following the crash.
Williams was medically evaluated at the scene and later cleared at a hospital before being booked into the Spokane County Jail. He faces charges of Malicious Mischief in the Second Degree (Domestic Violence), Assault in the Fourth Degree (DV), and two counts of Reckless Endangerment—one classified as domestic violence and one non-DV.
