CLARKSTON, WA –  The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 62-year-old man on Thursday related to a 2023 investigation into alleged voyeurism.  The suspect is accused of secretly recording a woman while she showered in her Clarkston apartment.

According to court documents, deputies were dispatched in March of 2023 after a woman reported finding a tablet belonging to her former roommate, identified as Darryl P. Sheets. The woman told deputies she discovered videos of herself undressing and showering, which she said were taken without her consent.

The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and collected the device, a tablet that contained a 31-minute video recorded on June 28, 2022. The video reportedly showed a man, later identified as Sheets, placing a recording device in the bathroom before the woman entered to shower. Investigators noted that the video captured the woman fully undressed, and Sheets’ voice could be heard in the background.

Detectives later obtained a search warrant to review the tablet’s contents. In addition to the explicit recording, the device contained two screenshots of the same incident, along with various other photos and internet images.

The woman told investigators that Sheets was a former friend. She said he had no permission to film or photograph her. Sheets was already incarcerated in Idaho on unrelated charges when the investigation began.  He was released by the Idaho Department of Correction on October 24, 2025.  A warrant for his arrest was issued in Asotin County this week.

Sheets was taken into custody by Asotin County authorities on Thursday and booked into the Asotin County Jail on a charge of Voyeurism in the First Degree, a felony.  He appeared in Asotin County Court on Friday. Bond was set at $40,000.  His next court appearance is set for November 10.
