LA GRANDE, OR – No. 12 LC State Volleyball closed out the regular season on Saturday with a loss to No. 2 Eastern Oregon. The Warriors clinched the fifth seed in the 2025 Cascade Conference Volleyball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, and will host a CCC Play-In match on Tuesday against eighth-seeded No. 21 Northwest (Wash.).
LC State ends the regular season with a 15-8 record overall and 12-8 mark in the toughest conference in the NAIA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Kills by Karissa Lindner, Juliauna Forgach Aguilar and Taylor Boyce kept the score within one early, but EOU used a six-point run to surge ahead 11-4. A swing by Jordynn Albright had the margin at five, 17-12, but another Mountie rally pushed the score to 21-14 before the set closed 25-18.
Makenzie Stout started the second frame with an ace before a kill by Lindner sparked a five-point run. Forgach Aguilar added a pair of kills to give LC State a 6-1 advantage. Tallies by Forgach Aguilar and Abby Beaton kept the Warriors in front 9-4, but EOU chipped away and regained the lead at 12-11. Back-to-back swings by Lindner and Mikale Roy had the Warriors ahead 13-12, but multiple runs by Eastern Oregon closed the set out 25-17.
LC State started the third set with a kill by Forgach Aguilar and ace by Ella Stosich, and another swing by Forgach Aguilar gave the Warriors a 3-1 advantage. Beaton, Boyce and Lindner added to the kill total for a 9-4 margin before an ace by Stout made it 13-5. With LC State up 16-9, EOU mounted its comeback with an eight-point run to take a 17-16 lead. The Mounties held the momentum in the 25-21 set.

Forgach Aguilar led the Warriors with 10 kills on a .267 attack percentage and Boyce added seven. Scott dished out 21 assists and Stosich collected 10 digs.

LC State will host a CCC Play-In match on Tuesday in the P1FCU Activity Center against No. 21 Northwest (Wash.) at 6 p.m.
