Southern Idaho Man Held on $1.5 Million Bail in Multiple Child Sexual Abuse-Related Cases

BOISE, ID – Ada County authorities report that 35-year-old Ryan Stephen Patania is being held on a series of felony accusations involving child sexual abuse, injury to a child, aggravated assault, and the use of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. According to jail records, Patania’s combined bail is set at $1.5 million, and he is subject to an Idaho Department of Corrections hold, making him not eligible for release.

The most serious claims include multiple counts of sexual battery involving lewd or lascivious acts on a minor between 16 and 17 years old, along with charges connected to lewd conduct with a child under 16 and sexual abuse of a minor under 16. One count of sexual abuse of a child under 16 carries a $500,000 bail, while another sexual battery charge is set at $1,000,000. Several related charges list bail as “included,” meaning they fall under the main bond amounts.

Patania also faces felony counts tied to aggravated assault and the reported use of a deadly weapon during a felony offense. Records show an additional warrant involving injury to a child.

He will remain in custody due to non-bailable charges tied to the IDOC hold.
