MOSCOW, ID – The League of Women Voters of Moscow will host a presentation from philosopher Neil Levy titled “Have they gone crazy? Political conspiracy theories and our fellow citizens” on Wednesday, November 19, at noon at the 1912 Center.
Levy, a professor of philosophy at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and Senior Research Fellow at the Uehiro Oxford Institute at Oxford University, will examine why conspiracy theories are more widespread than many realize and present evidence that fewer people genuinely believe these theories than polling suggests.
Drawing on his philosophical and psychological research, Levy will argue that conspiracy theory acceptance isn’t limited to one side of the political spectrum and that acceptance patterns can shift over time based on various social and political factors.
The presentation will also be available via Zoom with Meeting ID 823 1557 3245 and Passcode 335877.
