NAMPA, ID – Investigators with the Idaho Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested a Nampa man Tuesday on a felony charge related to child sexual exploitation, according to a release from the Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that 27-year-old Juan Cardoza has been charged with one count of possession of child sexual exploitation material.
“Our ICAC investigators do critical work to protect children in Idaho, and I’m grateful for the partnerships we’ve built with local law enforcement across the state,” Labrador said. “This arrest reflects the dedication of our team and the agencies working together to keep our communities and families safe.”
The ICAC Unit was assisted by the Nampa Police Department and Meridian Police Department.
Authorities encourage anyone with information related to the exploitation of children to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
Idaho’s ICAC Unit works alongside the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies focused on investigating and prosecuting individuals who use the internet to exploit children.
The Attorney General’s Office notes that all charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
