TACOMA, WA – The Washington State Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian allegedly threw a large cement block at a passing vehicle on Interstate 705, critically injuring a passenger.
The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, between the 9th Street on-ramp and the State Route 509 off-ramp. According to WSP, a male pedestrian threw the cement block at the vehicle, breaking through the windshield and striking the front-seat passenger.
The passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after initial treatment at a Tacoma hospital.
Detectives are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the attack or saw the suspect in or near the roadway that night.
