EAGLE, ID – A southern Idaho bar has caught the attention of the Department of Homeland Security with a social media post offering free beer to anyone who helps Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) locate and deport an illegal immigrant. The viral post, shared on X (formerly Twitter) this past Saturday, stated that anyone who assists ICE in identifying and deporting an undocumented person from Idaho would receive one month of free beer, with the possibility of additional months for helping deport multiple individuals.
Hours after the original post, the Department of Homeland Security reposted the offer on X, drawing further attention from the agency’s 2.8 million followers.
The Old State Saloon, located in Eagle, said the same promotion was posted on Facebook but was removed by the platform. In response, the bar posted a comment on X criticizing Facebook’s decision, stating, “Facebook is so gay.”
The bar and its owner have a history of controversy due to their political posts on social media, which have previously generated both praise and criticism from the public.
The promotion has sparked strong reactions online, highlighting the ongoing debate around immigration enforcement and the role of businesses in politically charged issues.
