LEWISTON, ID — The City of Lewiston has announced changes to solid waste collection and facility hours during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
According to the Lewiston Public Works Department, curbside collection will shift by one day later during the week of Christmas and the week of New Year’s for customers whose regular pickup falls on Thursday or Friday. Thursday routes will move to Friday, and Friday routes will move to Saturday.
From Friday, December 26, through Friday, January 2, residential customers may place additional holiday trash out for pickup at no extra charge. Gift wrap may be placed with recycling if it does not include ribbon, bows, tissue paper, plastic, or foil wrap. Extra cardboard boxes should be broken down and placed near the blue recycling carts.
Yard waste collection will continue on the 1st through the 7th during January and February. Green yard waste carts provided by the city may be used, along with plastic bags weighing no more than 35 pounds.
Several solid waste facilities will have modified hours or closures during the holidays, as outlined below.
