Woman Dies, Two Juveniles Injured in Southern Idaho Highway Crash

JEROME, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating a three-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening on State Highway 46 between Gooding and Wendell.

According to ISP, the collision happened at about 5:45 p.m. near milepost 107. A juvenile driving a gray 2011 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a maroon 2016 Subaru Impreza driven by a 28-year-old woman from Hailey.

After the initial impact, the Ford F-150 collided head-on with a gray 2012 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 25-year-old woman from Gooding. A juvenile passenger was also inside the Volkswagen.

The juvenile driver of the Ford was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. The Subaru driver was also wearing a seatbelt and was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

The 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The juvenile passenger in the Volkswagen was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.

State Highway 46 was completely blocked for approximately three hours while emergency crews responded and assisted those involved.

Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office, Life Flight, Gooding Fire, and Gooding Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
