On February 17, 2023, around 1200 PM, Idaho County deputies were called to the White Bird area for a suspicious male who had been parked in a parking lot since 730 AM. Idaho County deputies made contact with a male subject in a van in the parking lot. After further investigation, the subject was arrested.

Charles Klew, age 68, of John Day, Oregon, was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor driving while under the influence.
