Officials Investigating Restroom Fire Near Confluence of Snake and Columbia Rivers

KENNEWICK, WA – Benton County Fire District #1 firefighters responded to Two Rivers Park, east of Kennewick in Benton County early Thursday morning.

The park is located directly across from the mouth of the Snake River where it merges with the Columbia River. According to officials, at about 2:24 a.m. Thursday, deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office found the restrooms fully engulfed in flames.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and searched the building to confirm no one was inside.

According to Benton County Fire District #1, it appears that the fire started on the outside of the structure. The cause is under investigation.
