Clarkston’s Community Bank to Close Friday, Reopen as STCU on Tuesday

CLARKSTON, WA – Community Bank’s 10 branch locations in Northeastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington, including a location in Clarkston, will close at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, when accounts will move to Spokane Teachers Credit Union.

Before those branches reopen next Tuesday morning, they will be rebranded as STCU.  They will still be staffed by the same employees of the current Community Bank location, says the credit union.

STCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit credit union based in Liberty Lake, Washington.  Community Bank has 10 branches in Wallowa, Union, Umatilla, and Baker counties in Oregon, and Walla Walla and Asotin Counties in Washington, and $550 million in total assets.

Last August, STCU, Community Bank, and Community Bancshares, Inc., the registered financial holding company of Community Bank, announced that they had entered into a purchase and assumption agreement for STCU to acquire and assume substantially all the assets and liabilities of Community Bank.
