Pullman Man Sentenced in Second-Degree Rape Case

COLFAX, WA – A Pullman man has been sentenced under Washington’s indeterminate sentencing law following a conviction for Rape in the Second Degree, according to a June 2 media release from the Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office.

Davis Eneas requested a Special Sex Offender Sentencing Alternative (SSOSA), which would have allowed him to serve up to 365 days in county jail followed by community-based sex offender treatment for up to five years. The request was opposed by Senior Deputy Prosecutor Tessa Scholl, the victim, and the victim’s mother. Judge Gary Libey Palubicki denied the request.

Eneas was instead sentenced under Washington’s indeterminate sentencing structure, receiving a minimum term of 90 months in prison and a maximum term of life. The Indeterminate Sentencing Review Board will determine if and when he may be released after serving the minimum term. The court-imposed sentence fell within the statutory guideline range of 78 to 102 months.

Eneas will be required to register as a sex offender for life, and a lifetime Sexual Assault Protection Order was issued in favor of the victim.

According to Scholl, the victim and her mother supported the outcome and believe justice has been served.
