LEWISTON, ID – Construction will begin Tuesday, June 3, on U.S. Highway 95 near the top of the Lewiston Grade to repair fencing that protects drivers from falling rocks, according to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD).
Work will take place on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this time, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane with a speed limit of 45 mph. Southbound traffic into Lewiston will not be affected.
Crews will also remove unstable rocks from the slope above the fencing as part of the project.
Construction is expected to conclude by mid-June. The total cost of the repairs is approximately $157,000.
