CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston family is picking up the pieces after a devastating house fire on Monday afternoon destroyed their home — but a community support effort is already underway.
The fire, which broke out just before 3 p.m. on the 1300 block of Elm Street, consumed much of the home shared by Dakota Graham, Shyanne Stafford, their daughters Ava, 12, and Presley, 3, and their roommate.
According to a press release from Asotin County Fire District #1, the blaze prompted a rapid response from multiple departments, including Clarkston and Lewiston fire crews. The fire was quickly contained, though responders remained on the scene for over 90 minutes to extinguish hot spots.
All five residents and their four dogs escaped the home safely. Dakota Graham reportedly sustained minor burns while ensuring all pets made it out uninjured.
“They lost everything in a tragic fire,” says a family member in a GoFundMe appeal. “They are now homeless and without essentials. They’re gonna have to replace all household items as well as clothing for all.”
The online fundraiser aims to raise funds to cover emergency housing, daily necessities, and the long road ahead toward recovery.
