LEWISTON, ID – An 18-year-old Lewiston woman died Monday evening following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Waha Road near Buchanan Road, according to the Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:29 p.m. when the teen, driving a Toyota 4Runner SUV northbound on Waha Road, left the roadway, entered a ditch, and rolled the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the driver to a local hospital via air ambulance. She later succumbed to her injuries, authorities said. Her identity has not been released.

The crash blocked traffic on Waha Road for about three hours Monday evening as emergency crews worked at the scene.

Police say alcohol and drugs are being investigated as potential factors. The crash remains under investigation.
