Road Maintenance Closes Beaver Creek Highway Through Late September

HEADQUARTERS, ID – A key access route to Grandad Bridge and North Fork areas is now closed for the summer as road maintenance begins on Forest Service Road 247, also known as Beaver Creek Highway.

The U.S. Forest Service and PotlatchDeltic have partnered on a project that will close the road from its junction with Highway 11 in Headquarters (milepost 0.00) to milepost 5.70. The closure began July 8 and is expected to last through September 30, 2025.

The affected segment will be completely impassable during this time. However, public access beyond the closure will remain available via a signed detour using Scofield and Brown’s Rock Roads. A detour map has been posted in Headquarters at the end of Highway 11.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Dworshak Dam urges recreational users to plan ahead and allow extra travel time when accessing the area.
